FIN379 Personal Financial Planning provides the basic grounding for an individual to manage his or her personal finance in the complex financial markets of the 21st century. Various aspects from the financial planning process are discussed: liquid assets management, credit management, life insurance, income tax planning, estate planning and the CPF. Through case studies, students learn the steps to formulate and achieve financial goals. Recent developments in the financial advisory industry due to FinTech are presented so that students may distinguish between traditional financial advisors and robo-advisors.
